Get Connected, Get Plugged In
Message from President

Hello and thank you for visiting the website for Toronto NAIOP.

We are one of the top 10 largest NAIOP Chapters in North America, with over 700 members. Our membership covers the full range of real estate professionals in the Greater Toronto Area, ranging from entry level practitioners and developing leaders through to senior executives in the development, institutional, investment management, legal, architectural and brokerage firms.

Our mission has three main components:

-    Provide a program of high-quality information and education opportunities.  We do this primarily via our breakfast panel series which run throughout the year.  Our first one was the highly successful Economic Outlook breakfast which occurred in early January. We have moved the breakfasts to a new location. Check out the new venue!  Our bus tour of the suburban industrial and office markets is also a great way to keep up with current industry trends.

-    Provide a series of networking events.  Some of our members’ favorites are the Ski Day, Golf Tournament and the summer cocktail party. This year’s Program Committee is mixing it up a bit so be on the look out for some new events.

-    Provide recognition for outstanding achievement in the industry.  The annual black-tie REX Awards Gala is not only a great networking event but also celebrates excellence.  This year, for the first time, we introduced the Developing Leaders Award which will be given to members 35 years and under, who have distinguished themselves in their profession and show great promise as future leaders of the commercial real estate industry.

We also believe in giving back to the community in which we all work and live.  Toronto NAIOP is a proud supporter of Geneva Center for Autism and Alpine Canada.  We not only want to provide financial support but are also looking for ways that our members can contribute their time and skill.

I am honored to serve as Toronto NAIOP 's President for 2008.  I am looking forward to working with a great Board of Directors, all of whom are volunteers and all of whom donate many hours to ensure that Toronto NAIOP’s mission is successful.  I encourage your feedback.  Feel free to contact me or any member of the Board of Directors with your ideas and suggestions.  I look forward to seeing you throughout the year!

Best Regards,

Kathy Harder
2008 Toronto NAIOP President
